A.K. Khallid is a science fiction author born in Plainfield, New Jersey, and raised in Richmond, Virginia. He found the genre as a kid through Star Wars, then moved on to harder science fiction: Star Trek, Babylon 5, Mass Effect and The Expanse. Those stories shaped the kind of fiction he writes, with believable politics, ships that obey physics, and wars that cost something.

Outside of writing, he is a retired MMA fighter and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt who stays active in fitness. He is also an avid cosplayer and a self-described nerd. All Our Stars is his debut series.
